Anick Labrèche-Garby, Speech-Language Pathologist, M.H.Sc. (C), S-LP, Reg. CASLPO

Anick holds a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Ottawa and obtained the Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) Clinical Certification in 2004. She has also completed several formal training and stays up to date with evidence-based treatment practices including the Hanen parent training programs, childhood apraxia of speech, autism, early language development and augmentative communication. Moreover, Anick has offered numerous parent and community workshops and has supervised many students in the field of speech-language pathology.
Anick has been providing SLP services to toddlers, preschool and school-aged children for over 13 years. She has demonstrated success in a wide range of settings such as preschool programs, an Ottawa school board and the CHEO, where she has been working in the Clinic of Augmentative Communication since 2006. She is passionate about connecting with and engaging each child to meet their unique needs. She has experience in providing services to children and youth with speech and language delays, physical disabilities and developmental delays, including cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, and others.
Anick has a special interest in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and is registered as an Assistive Device Program (ADP) Individual Authorizer. She can prescribe ADP communication aids with financial assistance to clients and their families (ie. communication books, “low tech” communication devices). Anick can also provide therapy for the use of augmentative communication systems, including Picture Exchange Communication Symbols (PECS), sign language, speech generating devices and more.
Anick enjoys spending time with her two kids and husband, playing soccer, travelling and working on home and design projects.

Sharon completed her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Ottawa in 2003 where she currently teaches Communication Disorders in Special Populations and Assistive Technologies to Support Reading and Writing. Over the years, she has had the opportunity and privilege of offering a variety of training courses and workshops related to autism spectrum disorders and the Structured Teaching approach.
She has dedicated most of her career to working with children, adolescents and adults on the autism spectrum, initially as a behavioral therapist, and for the last 12 years, as a speech-language pathologist.
When her two youngest daughters were diagnosed with language-based learning difficulties (dyslexia, dysorthographia), she decided to deepen her knowledge in order to better support them. Work related to these difficulties has now become an area of practice she truly enjoys!
Sharon enjoys spending time with her four children and husband, travelling and keeping active by playing a variety of sports.
